Welcome Back Kingfishers! Hope you all had a fantastic and restful half term!
This term our topic is ‘Animals Including Humans’ and so this half term we are moving on to focus on the ‘animal side’ to study areas such as: classification keys, habitats and animal adaptations.
In Literacy, the year 5 pupils will be studying fables before moving on to information texts about animals of their choice and finishing the half term with persuasive letters or animals poems.
Our Maths focus this half term has started with statistics including line graphs, tables and time tables. Then, we will look at formal written methods for multiplication and division and will finish the half term with area and perimeter.
Our PE sessions have now changed and will now be on Monday and Friday afternoons with both sessions taken by Mr Piper. ON Monday it will be a class split (in year groups) whilst Friday sessions will be whole class PE.
Homework will start this week for both year 4 and 5 pupils. It should be sent out on Friday and to be returned on Wednesday. It will alternate with Maths and/or Literacy homework being set by Mrs Miles (year 4) and Mr Piper (year 5) one week and the second week topic homework set by Mr Piper for both year groups.
For any questions, queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me or ( year4) Mrs Miles on:
