We really need more help with these groups as we have lost several members recently. If you can help in any way, please contact the school office or any member of the FOSS Board of Trustees.

To those of you who are new to school a very big welcome from FOSS (Friends of Spaldwick School). Our primary function is to raise money so that we can fund things that the school needs but the school budget cannot stretch to! Thank you to everyone who supported FOSS events last year, with your help we managed to raise a fantastic £5000, for Spaldwick School and your children. Thank you to all the FOSS Committee for their hard work and support. A full list of purchases last year can be found in the Governors’ Annual Report but to give you an idea, some of our purchases this year have been PE shirts for School Team, £100 for each class towards coach cost for trips, Children’s Christmas entertainer (contribution), Creativity Tables for KS1, Water Tray for Robins, Swimming Pool hire for KS2, ICT Visualisers for each class (FOSS 50% contribution) which instantly displays any document, exercise book or 3D object to the class, sharing a moving object, capturing the image, zooming in for a really close up view and interacting with the image using interactive whiteboards, Life Education Bus (contribution), Puzzle (contribution) and Pupil Response System for ICT.

Although our main function is to raise money, we also want to provide fun social events for the children and their families, so that the memories our children have of school are not just of the classroom but also of some fun social times too.

We appreciate that everyone is very busy these days and find it hard to spare any time for fundraising for their school. However, if everyone did one very small thing it would be amazing how much could be achieved and how little each person would have to do. You do not need to join the committee, but if you could spare the time to help at one event or even do some admin or typing please let us know. Also, if you have any ideas on how to raise money for the school let us know.
