Friday 18th July

Year 6 pupils have fantastic time at Wicksteed Park! So did the adults!

 

Thursday 17th July

Eagles performed brilliantly this afternoon for the whole school. Good luck for Thursday nights performance to parents.

 

£314, Fantastic.

This is the amount of money raised by their Eagles on their Athletics Fun day for their class charity, the Royal British Legion.

FANTASTIC performance given by the Ocarina Band at the Birmingham Symphony Hall

Thank you Miss Body, Mrs Bell and Mrs Balchin for preparing these pupils for their special moment.

Also to their enthusiastic supporters!!

 

A very early start for the Ocarina players and supporters on their way at 7.30am!

 

Good luck to our  Birmingham Ocarina players, as they perform at the Symphony Hall.

 

 

Friday Bookbag news

The Launch of PARENT MAIL. In the bookbags today is a letter with information about Parent Mail, an email based school communication system we will be starting at Spaldwick School in September.

This is an exciting new adventure and one that could see the end of lost newsletters, old letters found in bookbags....

 

Tuesday 1st July

Wonderful  summer concert performances on Wednesday. In the morning the pupils shared their wider opps music and after -school club talents to whole school.

 

In the afternoon, they performed to their families. And of course, we included some audience participation!!

Thank you to the Kestrels for their class assembly today, with the focus on Writing

 

Class Charity Day.

This Friday the Kingfishers are having a class event to support their chosen charity, Holly Ward, Hinchingbrooke Hospital. To show their support for the Ward, the Kingfishers will be spending the day in the 'Wrong Trousers'. They are also raising funds by selling homemade biscuits to the rest of the school

 

 

Spaldwick Pupils 'shine'

Members of the Spaldwick 'Stars Team' are working at the E2BN ICT Conference on Tuesday and Wednesday. They are demonstrating to over 200 delegates two  exciting new ICT challenges - the Museum Box and The Instant Radio Programme.  Here they are in action at the Conference

Invitation to our Summer Concert, taking place on Tuesday 1st July, 1.30pm.

Getting ready to join us at School. This week, and next week the children who will be joining the school in September are spending time with Miss Green.

As you can see in the photo, our present Robins act as visit guides and help them during the afternoon.

 

 

Thursday  Can you help?

Several of the children are enjoying the latest interest in 'Crazy Bones' These small figures are used for games and building up collections.  Unfortunately there have been a few incidents of 'missing bones and stolen bones' now beginning to occur especially with our KS1 and Foundation stage pupils.. so can I ask you to suggest to the children that they may wish to keep their collection at home if they do not wish to loose any of them or have then added to Miss P's growing set!!

 

Charity News

The Puffins Activity Fair this afternoon has raised £70 for their class charity, Tearfund.

 

Wednesday activities

All classes have completed the Sports Science Challenges - rowing, speed throwing, lights out, speed stacks. Thanks to Y9 Playleaders and PE dept from Hinchingbrooke for providing this great experience. [and the sun still shining!!]

 

 

 

 

 

Active Week has Started!

Orienteering, Telephone challenge, Cricket, Treasure maps, Parachute challenge, sensory trail, Outdoor Art and the SUNSHINE. Fantastic way to start our Curriculum week.

Premiere of Kingfishers Film

Watched by parents and pupils whilst eating popcorn and dressed for the occasion.

 

30.5.08 £130 raised at the Pirates Raffle. This money will be donated to the 3 class charities - Tear Fund, Action Aid and the Holly Ward at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Each of the classes will be hosting another fund raising event this term to increase their donations.

Thankyou to all who attended and supported our Open Afternoon - grandparent, parent and pupil visitors, FOSS, Catering Service, Governors and our Y6 Tour guides.

 

In the Kingfishers' room everyone is ready for the final filming of their class movie.

 

 

 

Friday 18th July the Robins dressed as bugs to wave goodbye to the Eagles as they depart for their trip.

Kingfishers presented a cheque for over £80 to Holly ward at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

Kingfishers take 2nd Prize at Film Awards

Friday 4th July Shine week continues..

Good luck to all our musicians taking music exams today.

And to the Kingfishers, of to the Cambridgeshire Film Festival for the BIG SCREEN premiere of their movie. Mr Hooooo's Adventures.

 

Thursday 3rd July                             Robins Assembly was a most enjoyable and successful re-telling of the Hungry Caterpillar. Here he is!

Monday 23rd June

We announced the winner of the "design a fruit and vegetable logo" with a big surprise! Ms Rice had painted a sign to go above the kitchen with Rebecca's creation on it. Wonderful!

 

Waiting for their show to start....

Spaldwick School Egyptian Dancers and Drummers stages a FANTASTIC concert of dancing and drumming on Sunday at Huntingdon Commemoration Hall. It was great to see them all performing with such confidence and enjoyment. Thanks to all who supported the event both front and back stage, and congratulations to Kim Hall .

You will have to wait and see.. it is very exciting and some members of our Star Challenge Team have been chosen to use it at a County ICT Conference on Tuesday and Wednesday.. so watch this space for more news.
