The Fruity Tooties
At Spaldwick School we have a special team
of pupils who make up our healthy eating team - The Fruity Tooties. They
organise competitions and make sure we all try and eat healthily.
Our team of Fruity Tooties made table decorations for our
firework lunch. Previous groups have: Won a prize to visit a pig farm!
They also won a competition to produce
a poster to show foods produced locally, they worked hard on this
and used lots of corn and wheat!
This year they have won a Gardening Crate from
Morrisons and are now growing Tomato plants to fill their crate and then
enter it to win a place at the Chelsea Flower Show!
They are also growing potatoes for the national
Schools Potato growing Competition. We look forward to eating our crops!
We have had the Spaldwick Super Soup
competition for two years now, this was won the first year by Robert, his soup was made by every pupil in
the school and served at the Harvest lunch. This year Tom in Puffins won
with his soup, Grandma Smith's Carrot Soup. It was delicious! In 2008 Angel's soup won a prize in the Food from
the farm competition at Peterborough showground, a professional chef
made her soup! And in 2009 Kara, Angel's sister was
highly commended at the same competition, soup must be a family
tradition!
Fruity Tooties help with decorations
for special lunches and look after special guests on the Golden Roost
table. They have just looked after the Teaching Assistants during their
Special Thank You lunch.

Pupils
selected to sit on the Golden Roost table are pupils who
impressed the Teachers, Lunchtime staff or pupils with their good manners and behaviour.
And these are the Fruity Tooties!
