 School tour

School Entrance

Welcome to our virtual tour. We have changed rather a lot in recent years with major refurbishment and a substantial new extension to our school building, and more recently a new mobile classroom.  We are delighted to be now making full use of the better facilities we have in school.

School Grounds

We are very lucky to have been given a new field as we have expanded. The school grounds are an excellent resource for the school and are equipped with a storytellers corner, an environmental area, a beech maze and a variety of outdoor play equipment.

School Library

This area has recently been redecorated, and it looks as nice as the new building. This area is the centre of the school, and we access the hall and some of the classrooms from here. There are on-line computers here for children to use for information retrieval, and the library normally has a group of children working in it.

School Hall

We have all our assemblies in here.  We do indoor PE here and we have our lunch here as well! This is another area of the school that was recently extended, and it has made a big difference to all our activities. We also had lovely new fixed wall apparatus installed, as well as new PE equipment.

ICT Suite
In addition to computers in all classrooms, we also have a dedicated Information and Communications Technology (ICT) suite.  This is run by Mrs Leaver.  We have a broadband wireless network throughout the school that allows staff to access Internet and communicate with emails using their notebook computers wherever they are.

Robins Classroom (Reception)

This is the class for Reception children. The children experience the full range of activities supported by Miss Green, their teacher, and Mrs Page, a nursery nurse. We do like to welcome parents into school and many provide excellent help to all the teachers by working with children or by helping the teachers with other tasks. There is also a private outdoor play area outside the classroom.

Swifts Classroom (Year 1)

Past the reception area we move into Swifts. This class of Year 1 children is taught by Mrs Arbuthnott, often supported by Mrs Whitlock. Each class now has interactive whiteboards as well so the teachers can provide a lot of new exciting resources for the children throughout the school.

Blackbirds Classroom (Year 2)

The Blackbirds class is accessed from the library area and is a class of Year 2 children. Their teacher is Mrs Bell, who works with Mrs Balchin. This class was also redecorated and has everything new inside!  Mrs Bell is using the white board with her children in this picture.

Kingfishers Classroom (Year 3)

Further down the corridor from the library is the Kingfishers class. This class of Year 3 children is taught by Miss Vasey with Mrs Harbour and sometimes Mrs Balchin can be seen here as well.

Kestrels Classroom (Year 4)

In the class next door a group of Year 4 children are taught by Mr Williams.  This is the Kestrels class. Mrs Burrin also works regularly in this class.

Puffins Classroom (Year 5)

The newest class of all is the Puffins and they have a newly decorated mobile classroom.  It looks just as nice inside as the classrooms in the school.  They are taught by Mrs Saunders and Miss Body with help from Mrs Loakes.  Mrs Robinson and Mrs Bennett also help in the Puffins.

Eagles Classroom (Year 6)

The Eagles class has Year 6 pupils and they have Mr Canavan as their teacher supported by Mrs Robinson and Mrs Page.   They also work in the library or the ICT suite as well.
