Blackbirds Wednesday

The Blackbirds have printed their T-shirts today and they look fab!

Yesterday we made a printing blocks from plasticine inspired by designs from Honduran pottery and practised with them before creating their T-shirt design today.

We have had a great day and they have worked hard finding homophones, completing reading challenges as well as working on their handwriting

Well done Blackbirds -we are also 4 steps nearer our next treat!

Robins’ Wednesday

We didn’t manage to get out for Welly Wednesday today – it was just too wet 🙁

However, the Robins have had a busy day and have practised ordering numbers to 20, writing about themselves and they been working on their colour mixing skills.  The children have revised their phase 3 sounds and tricky words and we’ll continue to do this until after Easter.

Have you seen the lovely homework we have shared on the Robins’ class page?  Wonderful!

Robins’ Tuesday

The Robins have begun a unit of work in maths on weighing and have explored balancing different objects and finding which is heavier or lighter.  They have made collage houses using different shaped pieces of paper and painted their houses, as well as practising the ‘ure’ sound in phonics (as in ‘pure’).  Our sound for tomorrow is ‘er’ and then we’ll have completed all the phase 3 sounds and will revise all these for the rest of this term along with tricky words.

Tomorrow is our second Welly Wednesday – please remember your wellies Robins!
