Wow what a week! On Monday the Eagles finished their recent DT project which included planning, designing and building a Anne Frank replica 3D model based on research carried out during previous sessions. The children were split into 3s and had to join, paint and decorate their houses using cardboard and other materials. This task had no adult support and was all completed by the children.
On Wednesday the Eagles visited Duxford where the children took part in the ‘documentary challenge’ in which they had to choose one item of interest from the exhibition and film key information about it. The questions included what it was and why it was important during the War and why it might still be important today. They also completed ‘activity trails’ whilst looking round the other hangars.
On Thursday we held an ‘evacuee day’ where the children completed ‘Home Front’ activities such as ‘Dig for Victory’ and baking using WW2 recipes. During the afternoon they also made medals using salt dough. I apologise if they arrived home a little messy!
Thank you to the Eagles for their hard work during this half term. You all deserve a restful half term.
