Aims, Vision and Values
Today, the Adventurers started a new theme ‘May the force be with you’ that has a science focus. We discussed push and pull forces and then experimented with toy cars to see which surfaces were the best to move on, exploring what friction means. #STEM @DimensionsCC https://t.co/WyUTfu6fZn
Before the holidays, the Adventurers designed their own chocolate bars and explored rhetorical questions. Today, they started planning their own persuasive advert and they are sounding fabulous so far. To be fair, I don’t need much persuading! https://t.co/JHbeJMgoiI
All staff at Spaldwick Primary are currently enjoying a whole school Read Write Inc training session! We are excited to see the positive impact it will have on our school community. @RuthMiskinEdu #celebratinglearning #teamwork https://t.co/ZZKeYXHobY
In maths this week, the Adventurers have been busy counting, adding and subtracting fractions. The children have worked really hard and have tried some really challenging problem solving this week. #fractionfun #challengingtheirthinking @WhiteRoseEd https://t.co/JdK4uEdM6t
As part of the Adventurers’ theme ‘Law and Order’ we have been learning about Westminster and The House of Commons. They did some lovely sketching using pencil lines accurately and carefully to add detail. @DimensionsCC #citizenship https://t.co/KvMNu6kSIm
Some lovely work as part ‘My Happy Mind’ where the children in Adventurers created flowers to represent people they love and care about. They ended the session by putting the flowers on their tummies and doing some ‘Happy Breathing’. #childrensmentalhealth @myHappymind_ https://t.co/P4fzcLw8UZ
To celebrate British Science Week, the Adventurers made water clocks today. Unfortunately, they didn’t work at first so we persevered until we got a working device, not giving up when we needed to make some adjustments. Proper Scientists! #STEM #BritishScienceWeek ⏱⏰⏳ https://t.co/MsZxevO7hx
In maths, the Adventurers have been exploring equivalent fractions. We used the resources to work out whether our predictions were correct. We also talked about equal parts and how we might write these as equations. #whiterosemaths #mathsfun #teamwork https://t.co/Gar4o6NJ5z
Spaldwick Primary are enjoying a visit from @WoodgreenPets. What a great way to start science week! https://t.co/iGLuvJzz22
As part of their new theme ‘Law and Order’ the Adventurers held a lively debate today! They loved debating about school uniforms and footballers’ pay. They had such fabulous ideas and put their arguments forward in a clear and concise manner. @DimensionsCC #minipoliticians https://t.co/HBjWserNnD
Thank you to everyone who joined us for open classroom! We loved showcasing your children's hard work. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their achievements together. #SpaldwickPrimary #OpenClassroom #Celebration
We have enjoyed a fabulous whole school trip to see Shrek the Musical and the children were amazing https://t.co/34qq1pBWq0
