Cambridgeshire Catering Service School meals information
School meals are an important part of a child’s social development and it is essential that they feel comfortable when eating away from home. At school we try to make lunchtime more of an occasion where children can sit with their friends and enjoy eating socially together.
We run a canteen system where children can choose from the menu choices available and are responsible for clearing their trays away at the end of the meal.
The kitchen is a production kitchen, with most of the food prepared on site and as well some of it brought in from a ‘cook- freeze’ unit. The quality of the food is good and CCS plan the menus in line with current nutritional guidelines.
Packed Lunches. Pupils can also decide to have a packed lunch. Please do NOT include nut products as part of a packed lunch due to allergies within a number of school pupils. We ask that pupils do not have fizzy drinks.
Through the school’s Healthy Eating Policy we aim to:
ensure that all pupils are given consistent messages regarding food choices and their health.
ensure that pupils are well nourished at school and that every pupil has access to safe, tasty food and easily available drinking water throughout the day.
