It’s been a super busy start to the Summer Term in the Kestrels, we’ve been trying to finish our pneumatic creatures, started to work on our athletics skills, sketching and painting… everyone enjoying being able to get outside!
I have updated the class web page, but in case you haven’t spotted it, there is a slight change to the homework routine – please can homework be handed in by Wednesday each week.
Well, it’s looking rather damp & chilly for Wednesday’s trip to Hamerton Zoo Park, so please make sure your child has a waterproof coat to wear, along with wellie or walking boots. The children must be wearing school uniform on their top half, but as the weather isn’t great, they can wear more practical trousers. Please can you pop a carrier bag into one of their pockets – it might come in handy to sit on!
Don’t forget that they need a pack lunch and a drink or two.
Look forward to meeting you in the car park there @9.30am.
Please bring all Kestrel & Red Kites to the side doors up near the hall, when you drop them off
at 5.40 this evening.
They will be given back to you at this point at approx. 7.30 (later than previously thought).
If you haven’t already booked an appointment with your child’s class teacher, please do – places are filling up quickly 🙂
We have contacted the bus company and have confirmation that the Grafham bus will be running as usual at the end of the school day.
You can’t know them too well, so keep working hard at those times tables; they’re about to come in handy for our fractions work. The more effort you put into to knowing them inside & out, & upside down & all abouts will be worth it- it’ll make fractions all the easier… go for it!!!!!!!
We have our Spring Term parents evenings next week on Wednesday 28th February and Thursday 1st March – watch out for appointment letters in bags tomorrow. Thank you.
The rainforest has taken over the Kestrels’ classroom, creating a lovely setting for their poetry recitals – each and every one of which has been fantastic & I can’t wait to hear the rest! Take a look at the carousel of photo’s on our class page, and maybe you could come in for a closer look during the open evening next week.
Grown ups please can you help your Kestrel put maximum effort into their homework (including them reading & discussing their books with you)- it is all aimed at helping their progress.
You will have received a flier for a pupil – run jumble sale in your child’s bag. It’s taking place on 31st January. Can we ask you to send items in on the day please and not before? We have no room to store them!
Thank you 🙂
Please ensure that your children are safely with you when they leave school. We have been informed that children who are going home with parents have run through the gate into the bus bay into the path of cars. Thank you for your support in this, Mrs Arbuthnott.
