On Wednesdays the Robins have been working in PE on making different shapes with their bodies and creating sequences. Today we focussed on having tight muscles and making and holding star shapes as well as straight shapes. The children also worked on developing their fine motor skills by threading, making peg board patterns and writing buy dog antibiotics their names in shaving foam. They have also enjoyed a music session and visited the Computer Learning Area with Mrs Leaver! A busy day 🙂 Could we ask that the children have shorts as well as jogging bottoms for PE please? These are always used for indoor PE sessions. Thank you.
Today we continued with our letter writing and were very quiet for a few minutes! We were also busy estimating and measuring things with a ruler and tape measure.
We are working hard in school to learn our spellings but need some help at home too. Look out for a copy of your child’s test in their bags this Wednesday as some of you have been asking how they got on.
A lovely day in Woodpeckers, we completed our spelling tests, looked at our new spellings and did our weekly maths tests. All the children worked hard doing some reading and answering questions on what they had read in detail. In the afternoon we created a comic strip showing our feelings when in a new situation.
Thankyou for another hardworking day.
The children have brought home a competition entry form today! ‘Young Writers’ would love them to design a bookmark inspired by reading – information is on the sheet. Entries should be returned to me on Monday 28th September as the closing date is the 30th! Good luck and have fun! 🙂

Today Blackbirds did their going for green maths, they have brought the test they are on home to practice this week.
In literacy we are learning about setting out and writing letters, today we practised our address, and tried to learn it!
We have been busy with our spellings and weekly going for green maths today. We also carried on playing row row row your boat on the ocarinas.
Please keep practising the spellings, I look forward to seeing you next Monday.
We had a busy day today, with cooks on the move. We made bread rolls and then told Mrs Berridge how to make them.
In maths we have been looking at halves and quarters. We found a half and a quarter of different 2D shapes.
We carried on looking at our own fable stories and marked them together and changed some sentences to meet our success criteria.
In topic we investigated polar bears and started to create a polar bear picture.
The Blackbirds worked hard adding and subtracting today. We have also started writing our stories based on a character or animal found under the stairs. The room was very quiet as they concentrated hard on their stories.
Thankyou for a lovely day.
