Here is a little bit of information about concert times if you are planning to attend Young Voices on Friday.
We’ve had a lovely week in the Swifts. We are all getting very excited about the Nativity Play, the children are working really hard and the songs are sounding wonderful.
The children have impressed me with the facts that they have learnt from ‘The Big Book of the Blue’. I hope they have been sharing some of these at home. The Year one children have written some fabulous under the sea fact booklets and the Reception children have been using their phonic knowledge and amazed me by writing about their favourite sea creature.
We have started a new book this week called ‘Peace at last’ and the children have really enjoyed getting to know the story and the characters. We have been thinking about places where we could go if we wanted it to be peaceful.
Well done to the children who have received Mathletics certificates over the past couple of weeks, you have clearly been working very hard.
Well done Swifts, keep up the good work!
A big thank you to all those parents who attended our maths session, we really hope you enjoyed it.
What a wonderful first week back after a lovely break. We started off by celebrating Diwali and the children created some fabulous Rangoli patterns. They created some lovely clay diva’s and tried some yummy Indian food. I was very impressed with what the children tried and enjoyed!
We got our passports out again and flew with Spaldwick Airlines to Brazil in South America and the children are looking forward to learning more about the carnivals, Brazilian food and the Rainforest.
We had our first PE session with specialist coach Vicky Leighton which the children thoroughly enjoyed. PE days are now on Wednesdays and Fridays.
I hope you are all having a wonderful half term.
Just a reminder for those children in Year 6 who are taking part in Bikeability, you will need to bring your bike in on Monday 28th October. Mrs Smith has arranged with the bus company that those unable to bring their bike in by car can put it on the bus.
For those who wear a skirt, you may want to bring leggings in as well for when you take part.
Don’t forget your helmets!
We were all really happy to welcome Amy Bradshaw in to school to deliver an introduction to mindfulness to our children, staff and parents. If you missed the parent sessions you can see the slides here.
Amy will be delivering the Paws b sessions to our KS2 children over the next 12 weeks and shorter sessions to our Reception and KS1 children.
If you have any questions. please do not hesitate getting in touch.
It may have only been two days but they’ve been great! A definite highlight was seeing the KS1 team dressed as pilots and air stewards for their sparkling start!
Next Tuesday, we have our Back to School meetings. They will give you lots of information about the expectations for your child’s year group and homework etc. The KS1 meeting is at 4pm and the KS2 is at 4:30pm. There will be a dvd on in the hall for children.
Hope to see you Tuesday, have a super weekend 😊
The final day for 2019 Year 6 is nearly upon us 🙁 Just a reminder that the leavers’ service at Spaldwick church begins at 9:30am. All Year 6 parents are welcome to attend.
In case I do not catch you all at the end, I would like to wish you all a very happy summer holidays and thank you for your support throughout the year. It has a been a pleasure teaching your children. I wish you all the very best.
