Meet our Governors
Mrs Louise Herriman
I am a parent governor and Vice Chair at Spaldwick Primary School, also supporting with Pupil Premium. I live in the village and have one child at school in Key Stage 1. I joined as a Governor in February 2021 before my child started at the school, wanting to contribute to my local community and with a passion for supporting children's education, having extensively worked and volunteered with children previously. In my career I have held Operational and Leadership roles, with an additional qualification in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring, enabling me to bring various skills to support and positively challenge the senior leadership team, so that all children can have an enjoyable and successful education at Spaldwick.
Dr. Carin Taylor
My husband and I moved to Spaldwick late in 2019 and I knew I wanted to contribute something to the local community. I visited Spaldwick Primary School in 2022 and loved it! I offered to join the governing committee I order to support the school and our village.
My life has been full of education and I am still learning. My own education concluded with a PhD in Medieval history at Cambridge University nearly thirty years ago. Since then, I have been determined to bring high quality education and rich experiences to all young people, particularly those who are not otherwise advantaged. I was for many years a governor of my children’s primary school. I became a secondary headteacher in 2006 and, in 2012, I led the creation of an academy trust in east Cambridgeshire bringing primary and secondary schools to work in partnership.
My day job as Executive Headteacher (CEO) of our Trust keeps me busy and I hope I have some knowledge and experience to offer Spaldwick Primary School. My three children, three step children and two grandchildren continue to teach me lots of things that matter which is why I am so happy to be part of the SPS community where every day is a chance to learn!
